Prof. Ishfaq Ahmad

Prof. Ishfaq Ahmad has been a full professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) since 2002. Prior to that, he was an associate professor of computer science at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). At HKUST, he also directed the university’s Multimedia Technology Research Center. At UTA, he led IRIS (Institute of Research in Security), an interdisciplinary research center of the university. He has extensively engaged with the industry in technology transfer, having collaborated with over 60 companies and spearheaded many interdisciplinary teams at UTA and across multiple universities. 

He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science and M.S. in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University, New York, U.S.A., in 1992 and 1987, respectively; his B.S. in Electrical Engineering is from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, Pakistan, in 1985. He has authored 290-plus publications, including books and peer-reviewed research papers on supercomputing systems, parallel optimization algorithms, digital video compression, smart power grid, AI-driven assistive technologies, and sustainable computing. He is a Fellow of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers)—the Fellow grade is the highest of the IEEE and is conferred for extraordinary achievements in electrical engineering and computer science.

Prof. Dongning Liu

Guangdong University of Technology, China

Dr. Dongning Liu, Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor, currently serves as Associate Director of the Academic Affairs Office and Vice Dean of the School of Computer Science at Guangdong University of Technology. He is a Distinguished Member of the China Computer Federation (CCF), Standing Committee Member of the CCF Technical Committee on Collaborative Computing, Executive Committee Member of both the CCF Technical Committee on Internet of Things and the CCF Technical Committee on Education. Additionally, he holds memberships as an IEEE Senior Member, Technical Committee Member of IEEE TC on Distributed Intelligent Systems, and Associate Editor of IEEE SMC Magazine. He also serves as Deputy Director of the Artificial Intelligence Technical Committee under the Guangdong Computer Society.

His primary research focuses on collaborative computing, social computing, industrial software, and systems engineering. As an evaluation expert for the “Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Award,” he has led multiple research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Program, and Guangzhou Municipal Science and Technology Program. These projects are conducted through major research platforms including the National-Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Integrated Technology of Information-Physical Fusion Systems in Intelligent Manufacturing and the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Cyber-Physical Systems.
